GRAND RAPIDS, MI (April 16, 2015) – Applied Imaging, Michigan’s premier office technology dealer, has merged with Hi-Tech of Petoskey, MI, effective April 6, 2015. Following the merger, both companies will operate under the Applied Imaging brand and management team.
Hi-Tech, an authorized Canon dealer, has served the Northern Michigan business community for 32 years. According to John Lowery, president of Applied Imaging, the transition will be seamless for Hi-Tech’s customers since Applied Imaging will occupy the same building and all of Hi-Tech’s employees will be integrated into Applied Imaging.
“We’re very excited to welcome Hi-Tech’s customers and employees into the Applied Imaging family,” says Lowery, who founded the Grand Rapids headquartered company in 1987. “Since Applied Imaging is also Canon-authorized and fully trained and certified on all products Hi-Tech represents, customers can expect to see the same faces and not experience any interruption in service.”
Lowery indicated that Hi-Tech’s owners, Gary and Betty High, will retire following the transition period with Gary being available to handle special projects for the company from time to time. Along with experiencing a seamless transition, Hi-Tech’s customers will have access to additional products and services through Applied Imaging.
“Our Petoskey customers now have a wider selection of copier/printer brands and can benefit from our expertise in document management with Applied Imaging’s DocSmart brand and our network design and managed network services with our NetSmart brand,” added Lowery. “The merger also expands Applied Imaging’s coverage throughout Michigan and leaves only a few pockets in the state where we don’t have representation.”
Lowery founded Applied Imaging in 1987. From its roots in Grand Rapids, the company has grown to have 225 employees and offices in Muskegon, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City and Metropolitan Detroit, which was established in 2011. Applied Imaging’s business includes the sales and service of copiers, printers, document storage and retrieval products, and software solutions that help customers be more productive and efficient when it comes to document workflow. Manufacturers represented by Applied Imaging include Ricoh, Canon, Kyocera, Océ, Samsung, OnBase, Microsoft, and more.
